The loop at the end slides through the belt clip in one try, even with cold hands and a squirmy pup on the other leash. Clipping and unclipping the carabiner took some getting used to, but once I got the feel, it's been a solid way to keep my dog tethered while I'm hauling gear.
The 8mm polyethylene rope feels sturdy enough to trust with my dog, and the loop design makes clipping it to the belt quick even when I'm juggling a backpack. Only gripe is the length isn't adjustable, but for hands-free moments on the trail it's done the job fine.
The 8mm rope is sturdy enough for my 60-pound dog, no complaints there. It's just a bit stiffer than I'd like for coiling up, and the length feels shorter than I pictured when clipping to the belt. Works fine for quick stops, but I wouldn't call it a hands-free miracle.
