These little clips are the perfect size for keeping my keys attached to a belt loop. The 2 1/4-inch length means they don't dangle awkwardly, and the non-locking gate snaps shut securely.
The 2 1/4-inch size is just right for clipping my keys onto my gear bag without adding bulk. It's a simple non-locking design, so I wouldn't trust it for anything heavy, but it handles the everyday stuff fine. Works exactly as described for the price.
