Took this out on a snowy trail this morning, and the velcro releases so smoothly with just a firm yank that I didn’t have to fumble with cold fingers at all. The heavy snap clicks in securely but stays completely out of the way on my dog’s back, no dangling metal clanking around. Exactly what I need
