Heavier than the standard snaps I've used, but that heft makes it feel reassuringly solid when I'm connecting lines under pressure. The bronze takes a beating in the cold without getting brittle—exactly what I needed for winter work.
The cold here gets brutal in January, and this snap still opens and closes smoothly when I'm out doing chores at dawn. The 5/8-inch size feels substantial in my hand, and the bronze has a nice weight to it that cheaper hardware just doesn't have. Exactly what I needed for my tugline.
The machining on this 5/8-inch snap is flawless, and it feels rock-solid in hand. I've used it in some seriously biting cold weather on my tuglines and it has not stiffened up or shown a hint of wear.
